The Orange County (the O.C.)—Luke

Marissa’s protective boyfriend is a prince of Newport Beach - a child of vast wealth and privilege. However, the pressure to be the perfect son often forces Luke to bury his insecurities behind a cocky attitude, charming smile, and a sometimes bullying bravado.

 As a result, he is adored by his girlfriend’s parents, envied by his fellow students, and desired by a legion Newport Beach Beauties. Though committed to the idea of being Marissa’s boyfriend, Luke is less than committed to the idea of being faithful to her.
 A star athlete and the captain of the water polo team, Luke stands with Marissa in the center of the OC in crowd. Their longtime relationship represents the status quo that is immediately threatened by Ryan’s introduction to the community. Ryan’s continued presence in the OC ultimately forces Luke to confront his deepest fears and feelings or risk losing Marissa forever.

The most things impressed me a lot is that Luke was a guy of similarity to the main actor in The Graduate, both of whom have sex with two generations in the same family. It sounds dirty and unbelievable, yet, reflecting some facts exiting in our society and unreasonable scandals or mistakes committed by helpless and emotional human beings.

Actually, I have no comment about Luke, some kind of ignorant him. Nevertheless, gradually I found he is also a nice guy in other fields. People change, that’s right.

The Orange County (the O.C.)—Marissa Cooper

This time, we are talking about Marissa Cooper, a charming young lady.
Daughter of Jimmy and Julie Cooper, Marissa has lived next door to the Cohen’s her entire life. She has it all, great friends, a great boyfriend as well as a perfect family. So we think… the day she meets Ryan, changes occurred in her world. Over the series tough choices and responsibilities were waiting for her.

With each new decision, she tells the entire community, "I don’t care what you think." She stands by her father, befriends Seth, leaves her boyfriend and finds herself falling in love with the ultimate outsider. Like Kirsten Cohen, who was in her shoes at that age, Marissa begins to make choices that will define her as a woman, and determine whether her path would lead her away from the O.C or deeper into its heart.
Marissa and Ryan would begin a relationship that would be challenged every step of the way. Whether it is the jealous ex-boyfriend, the over-controlling mother, or past girlfriends returned, it would never be easy for Marissa and Ryan.
But when Ryan’s ex-girlfriend, Theresa, hoped to escape her life in Chino, everything would turn upside-down. Theresa would later become pregnant with a child that was uncertain to be Ryan’s. Ryan however, did the right thing, and left with her to Chino in order to help build a strong new family.
Marissa was left devastated and unsure of her relationship with Ryan. Her mother, Julie, would marry the villain Caleb Nichol and force Marissa to live with her. Since then, Marissa has returned to her out-of-control behavior and her future with Ryan is uncertain.

Seriously, this can tell from the series that Ryan and Marissa are a nice match, this is what a couple supposed to like, like the feeling I have to my beloved, I mean, in terms of the time they are being together. However, Marissa is not that smart enough, she often made mistakes when confronting relationships, for instance, and simply regarding any relationships as friendships, regardless what Ryan would think, and then lead to disaster for both of them in the end.

In this case, they are alike. As an old saying goes, after suffering comes happiness, so is true for two lovers.

The Orange County (the O.C.)—Ryan

Today, I’d like to share with you The Orange County, which has been loved by thousands of teenagers and prevailed in USA for long. This sitcom has enjoyed not a few awards, such as “The best sitcom” “The most outstanding sitcom” “The most favored hero” “The most favored actress”, etc.

In this sitcom, there are Ryan, Cooper and Luke whom I am interested in.

 From Ryan’s first moments in Newport Beach, he finds himself in conflict with a strict social and economic hierarchy that has existed for generations and doesn’t tolerate any incursion from outsiders. His very presence in Newport Beach threatens the security of its inhabitants and their way of life simply because this troubled teenager is unable and unwilling to conform. Ryan’s arc for the series will continue and expand upon the ‘fish-out-of-water’ dynamic established in the pilot. Throughout the series, Ryan’s outsider status will continue to set him apart from the O.C. elite, but his continued presence in their community ultimately shines like a bright light on the fact that everyone, no matter how rich or powerful, feels like an outsider at heart.

Ryan would come to win the heart of Newport’s princess, Marissa Cooper. While they would eventually be together, many obstacles blocked their way. The two would try to tear them apart, and while they stayed strong, it would eventually be Ryan’s ex-girlfriend Theresa who would pull them apart.

When Theresa appeared in Newport, hoping to escape Chino, everything would be turned upside-down. Theresa would later become pregnant with a child that was uncertain to be Ryan’s. Ryan however, did the right thing, and left with her to Chino in order to help build a strong new family.
Theresa would later lie to Ryan and tell him that she has lost the baby. Ryan would then return to Newport to live with the Cohen’s again. However, Ryan and Marissa may never recover this time.

By reading this, what kind of guy Ryan in your mind? Do you like him, or dislike him, or just without any feeling towards him. As for me, I don’t really favor Ryan, though he is integrated , handsome and kind, he can control himself in a love relationship, or let say, he can do a good job as a boyfriends is supposed to do.

When you fall in love with someone, faith and royalty is of vital importance. You can just fall in love with two guys or two girls; neither have affection with anybody else. While for Ryan, when he was being together with Marissa, though, we can tell from his eyes, she is really his true love; he is still lingering in his ex-girlfriend and has affairs with her, naturally and intuitionally. How come this happen? This is unfair to Marissa.

I have no idea whether is so-call passion, which is beyond the control of human being, but at least I know that, once you know this would happen, why not stay away from him or her, then nothing would happen.

Maybe I am kind of prejudice because apart from which, all in all Ryan is a nice guy.

I would share with you some other characters next time.

Sex and city

Long time ago we have been introduced into this sitcom by our university teachers, and lots of my classmates therefore have become “Sex and city” fans, of course, including me.

At first, I was not quite fond of the scenes, characters, and stories involved in this sitcom, because there some pictures occurring on the screen are not that decent, which, as far as a student’s concerned, does not matched our status. Some girls will felt humiliated if they were found by others that they have seen the sitcom. Besides which, as for my consideration, the actors display in the sitcom are not handsome or beautiful enough. Even in some situations, I found that the ladies are far beyond the endurance of the audiences in terms of looks. And lastly, stories are kind of departure from innovation.

But why I have become a fun of them too in the end? This is really a tough question. Yet, I can explain some.

Firstly, though they don’t own outstanding appearances, they are sexy, charming, and trendy, which is what most youngsters are pursuing.

Secondly, the stories are not updated adequately; yet, many are closely related to our life here and there. From which we can learn how to maintain a relationship well including the relationships that between lovers, relatives and friends. When we are confronting the TV or PC and enjoying the sitcom, we can learn, we can feel, and we can view.

Doubtlessly, there are still lots to account for the reason why I fall in love with this sitcom, but I have to call it a day since all those points failed to break into my mind in a second.
